After a few years in the dating world, I've realized a few things that make me worried for future, and current generations. We are a world of technology, a world of consumerism, and a world of greed. We now have phones that let us connect with millions of people, that allow us to explore the unimaginable, and we begin to wonder "what if...". I know a lot of people in my generation who are starting to question their life because they are realizing that life is hard. Life is not the world we imagined through our Instagram, Facebook or world web. Life is real, and it does not like being categorized into a small device that can fit into our hands. So we begin to wonder what if...
What if there is more than just this....
What if this isn't the person I want to spend the rest of my life with....
What if I just did this differently....
Maybe
What if....
Our generation has been given far too much power, far too much temptation that causes us to walk down a path that we may regret because we thought about the what ifs... Now instead of letters, we have texting, instant messenger, and email. We can literally talk to anyone at anytime, we are given a million more what if's.. now we look at our phone screens wondering if someone we care about is going to respond. However, if they don't, then why not talk to someone else... what if... you made the wrong choice. We want immediate satisfaction, and we are given many temptations. Instead of working through the hard parts, we move on, we text that next person.
We are stuck in a cycle of what if's, always hoping for something better, rather than working with what we have. We are greedy, we are selfish, and soon life will not allow us to keep avoiding the fact that it's real, and it doesn't care about what if's.
